The Ring - Live Art by Monk & Friends
Monk and a high powered group of visual artists will be painting live at this awesome community event. There are 3 dates to catch the live art!
The Ring is an in your face Bicycle Racing experience like no other.
It consists of a four person elimination style shoot out, that pits racers against one another on a Flat Track Speedway style gravel course. (Aka) An old baseball diamond. Going left around the bases.
Win your heat you advance. lose your heat, you go to the Last Chance Qualifier for one more shot at advancing. All participants race at least twice. Bracket racing at it's finest!
All leading up to a final round for all the glory. Spectators are treated to some of the most exciting bicycle race action.
Practice and Registration opens at 6pm closes at 6:45.
Racing starts a 7pm.
This is a FREE event to promote the Grand Rapids Parks Department and The Grand Rapids Bike Park.

2024 Grand Rapids Beat Down
Monk Recordings is the founder and organizer of the Beat Down series. The 2024 Grand Rapids Beat Down is the 5th installment in the series. The GR Beat Down is a music producer competition where 16 music producers/beat makers compete in a bracket style competition for a $500 cash prize. Judges: Troy Caesar (god's Kitchen), Vito (EURO-K), Ilajide (Pocket Jams, Clear Soul Forces).

Kulture Kick
Monk Recordings is the co-sponsor and lead organizer of Kulture Kick, a celebration of the cultural diversity within West Michigan. This free all ages outdoor event showcases sport (futsol), music, food, live art, and dance with a spirit of bringing people together to foster a sense of belonging. 2024 Music Econ Summit
Monk Recordings is the founder of the Music Econ Summit in partnership with Push the City Cypher, the Michigan Music Alliance, and the Grand Rapids Center for Community Transformation. The summit is a day long symposium designed to educate independent musicians on the ins and outs of the business side of music artistry. Topis include starting an LLC, sync licensing, royalty collection, social media marketing, trademarking your brand, venue solicitation, and more.
